Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 1993 Chic Rabbis Raglan Coat

Sold out

A coat derived from one of Gaultier's most controversial collections entitled 'Chic Rabbis'. Gaultier once said “I saw a group of rabbis leaving the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue. I found them very beautiful, very elegant, with their hats and their huge coats flapping in the wind. It was a fantastic scene.” The coat is of typical wool gabardine often found within high-quality suiting fabrics, fully lined and a sophisticated tailored pattern, specifically a detachable raglan sleeve set-up which creates a seamless shoulder display when worn as the fabric drapes over the shoulders. These sleeves can be unbuttoned at the shoulder yet still attached at the back, creating elongated sleeves and drooped shoulders as it's worn in the fit reference as it reveals the iconic Hebrew patch on the side shoulder panel. The other way is to remove the sleeves altogether (three marbled buttons) which reveals the entire sleeve lining. This piece is of unisex nature, please see measurements for details: Shoulders 47cm, Width 54cm, Length 124cm, Sleeves 60cm - (best for a femme 38-42 or an homme 44-46)
