Vivienne Westwood Seditionaries ‘Chaos’ Short Muslin Top
Sold out
The muslin tops are an original series executed during the boutique run by Vivienne and her then partner Malcom McLaren entitled ‘SEX’, in London between 1974 and 1976. Various icons from this era wore these such as Sid Vicious from the Sex Pistols. The name of the garment were colloquially named for the fabric that they’re made from. The most common iteration were the elongated long sleeved tops with metal clips, some versions were also made from the double-gauze muslin which its characteristics were naturally crinkled when draped. This short sleeve iteration came after the original seditionaries series which was seperate from the exclusive 13 different prints during her partnership with Malcom. The Chaos print is as true as it gets to the modus operandi of Vivienne Westwood, being the queen of punk. Single-gauze muslin cotton.
